Patient Policies

Thank you for choosing Easy Care Mental Health. These policies are designed to ensure safe, ethical, and high-quality psychiatric care for all patients. By scheduling or receiving services, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies.

Identity Verification

To comply with state licensing requirements and telehealth regulations, all patients must provide a valid government-issued photo ID before their appointment. Your ID must verify both your identity and your current state of residence before services can be provided.

Initial Appointment

Easy Care Mental Health offers both in-person and telehealth appointments. All new patients are required to complete their initial psychiatric evaluation in person. This visit allows for a comprehensive assessment, identity verification, and development of an individualized treatment plan.

After your initial evaluation, follow-up appointments may be conducted in person or by telehealth when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable laws and regulations.

ADHD & Stimulant Medication Policy

Patients seeking treatment for ADHD with stimulant medication must provide comprehensive psychological testing confirming an ADHD diagnosis.

Psychological testing must have been completed within the past five (5) years.

Easy Care Mental Health does not perform ADHD psychological testing.

Patients without appropriate testing may be referred to a qualified provider for evaluation.

A previous ADHD diagnosis or prior stimulant prescription does not guarantee stimulant medication will be prescribed.

All treatment recommendations are based on your provider's independent clinical assessment, medical history, current symptoms, and professional judgment.

Benzodiazepine Policy

Easy Care Mental Health does not initiate or provide long-term management of benzodiazepine medications, including Xanax (alprazolam), Ativan (lorazepam), Klonopin (clonazepam), and Valium (diazepam).

If you are currently prescribed one of these medications, your treatment history will be reviewed, and appropriate evidence-based treatment options will be discussed.

Medication Management

Medication recommendations and prescriptions are based on your provider's clinical judgment, treatment needs, and applicable prescribing guidelines.

Follow-Up Care: Regular follow-up appointments are required to monitor your progress and continue medication management.

Controlled Medications: Controlled substances are prescribed only when clinically appropriate and in accordance with federal and state regulations. Early refills and replacement prescriptions for lost or stolen medications are generally not provided.

Prescription Refills: Refill requests should be submitted during normal business hours and may require a scheduled follow-up appointment.

Pharmacy Coordination: Prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy whenever possible. Patients are responsible for contacting their pharmacy regarding refill status before contacting the office.

Appointment Policies

Late Arrivals
Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule. Controlled substance refills will not be provided for missed or rescheduled appointments.

Cancellations & No-Shows
Please provide at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. For patients with commercial insurance or self-pay, late cancellations, no-shows, or appointments rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a $50 fee, when permitted by your insurance plan. Payment is required before future appointments.

Attendance
Repeated missed appointments, late cancellations, or no-shows (more than two occurrences) may result in dismissal from the practice.

Appointment Length
Initial psychiatric evaluations are typically 60 minutes, and follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.

Returned Payments
A $50 fee will be assessed for returned checks.

Treatment Decisions

Scheduling an appointment does not guarantee:

A specific diagnosis.

A prescription for any medication.

A diagnosis of ADHD.

A prescription for stimulant medication.

Continuation of medications prescribed by another provider.

Approval of any specific medication requested by a patient.

All diagnoses, prescriptions, and treatment recommendations are based on a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, current clinical standards, and your provider's professional judgment.

Easy Care Mental Health does not provide emergency or after-hours crisis services.
